Excel formula colour help

    Hi,
I just saw your help with the excel IF situ and wondered if you'd know the answer to this excel formula nugget:

context = inputting cashier's takings using excel spreadsheets.

    problem =
if a cashier is supposed to give 2500 euro according to their receipts but infact gives 2490 euro, the difference formula shows up red because its in the minus. Fine.

If the cashier is supposed to give 2500 but gives 2510 the difference formula shows the difference as 10 euro over but in black because excel automatically puts greater amounts in black- what I'd like to know is how do I get this difference, although greater, to show up in red?

Also to compliacte it further - ideally I'd like it to be red font only if the difference is lesser or greater than 10 euro.
So if the difference between what the cashier is supposed to give me and what they actually give me is less than 10 euro than this difference shows in black - but more than 10 euro (either way) and the difference should be in red.

If anyone has a clue as to what im talking about - well done - if anyone actually can help with settings/formula - double well done.

I'm not sure if I'm interpreting your problem correctly, but it sounds to me as if you just need to use the conditional formatting option....
Go to the Format menu, Conditional Formatting.
Enter some conditions such as those on the attached image (haven't uploaded an image before, hope it works!)

I've just gone into the spreadsheet and completed the condition boxes as you suggested and its worked perfectly.
Thanks so much - thats a great help to my work.
