Is the V Series Sony Bravia better than the L Series?

I was looking at the Sony range and went to my local shop. I have read alot about the bravia range and was expecting good things. However i was disappointed when I saw the 32 Son Bravia KDL-32L4000. When comparing it to the Samsung 32" LCD-TV LE32A330, the samsung seemed much brighter and cripser picture.

So was wondering maybe it was the model of Bravia, is the picture of the Sony Bravia KDL-32V4500 better.

Was looking online and compared the 3 - http://www.komplett.ie/k/kcp.aspx?sku=350117&sku=376153&sku=348249

What do people think, advice would be great.

The v series is better i think and it has mpeg-4 decoder built in. Think this is important because i think RTE are going to broadcast over mpeg-4 this summer.

    Thanks for your opinion ricfeen.

The V is by far the better of the 2 Sonys, streets ahead! Mpeg 4 is a good bonus!

Sony have a brand new range coming out now, probally at the end of the month, so keep an eye out for them the S5500 I think is the entry level sony which will replace the V4000, There is a V5500 which will be full HD which is replacing the W4000 and there is the W5500 which is replacing the W4500! The W5500 is full hd and 100 hertz!

    No prices out yet afaik!

The W4500 series is already 100hz, full HD and this replaced the 50hz W4000 series model, also full HD. I don't think you will see the W5500 series until this summer in Irish shops, the V5500 a little sooner. Top of the line now available in Ireland now is the Z4500 which is 200hz but costly at around 2k for a 40". There is also an X model available, 100hz but very pricey and rare.

Then the Sony 32W4000 is the one to go for, if he wants a full HD set.
Won best 32" of the year on WhatHiFi's awards. Unfortunately pricey...almost a grand, and unless you are viewing very close (3 feet or so), not much difference between 720p and 1080p. I use one for my Xbox 360.

With my budget being between 500 to 600, is the 32V4500 the best value for money?
