I'm starting this thread mainly to get advise on how to attract people to a charity event that I am organising for www.coolmine.ie We are looking for participants to join us on a leisurely cycle along Dublin Bay (Howth to Bray) on Sunday 19th April and help us raise a few € for our drugs and alcohol rehab services. This is the first such event and we aim to make it an annual one, all going well. To mark our 35th year offering rehab services in Ireland the Garda Band have agreed to greet us on our arrival on the promenade in Bray and provide their unique razmatazz entertainment. We will have great prizes on offer to mark the occasion, such as a week end for two people in Faithleg House Hotel in Waterford, so log on and register http://www.coolmine.ie

All advice welcome on how to make this a great success is greatly appreciated.

    tunney,

I can why a reference to a "leisurely cycle" would make you angry, but I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you brought along your SRM cranks.

    Hug?

    Didn't read past first line.

If you're topic is so boring/irrelevant that you don't think people will click on it then don't waste our time.

Seriously why is it too much to expect relevant on-topic Titles?

If you are a PAYE worker and have donated €250 or more to Coolmine during a tax year, Coolmine can claim an extra amount from the Revenue Commissioners at no cost to you.

    Emmmmm

Apologies to OP. I read this as a "FREE SEX" type title, leading into a "now we've got your attention here is something completely unrelated".........

    Mia culpa

You'd be happy with this Coolmine lot then. Their recovery centres are segregated. :pac:

This sounds like a good bike ride, for a decent cause. Their rehabilitation centre was next to my secondary school, they do good work for drug addicts trying to dry out, good luck with it!

I would liken this thread to a carrot cake. The title looks good, just like carrot cakes do from a distance. Then you read the first post or the name of the cake and see that it is just a carrot cake, and you get a little dissappointed. Then you actually read some more of the posts and realise that you like the taste of carrot cake.

Am I taking this whole cake analogy thing too far?

I'm really dying for a piece of cake.

I like carrot cake... and cream cheese icing, but not the walnuts...

    Didn't understand the last line.

If your Latin is so badly spelt/incomprehensible that you don't think people will click on it then don't waste our time. ;)
