    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

€25k for it is ridiculous imho. It's 9 years old! Did you try and get an insurance quote, disclosing the tuning?

€25K is ott for that one! I can bring one in from uk, about €20k all in, newer with lower miles and not tuned up.

I am not particularly interested in the one on carzone, I'm more interested in peoples experience of a stock 2000 - 2002 RS4, I dont think i'd buy a modified one, 380bhp should be enough!!!

Its not 'Tuned' as such its a simple remap,im fairly familiar with AMD i got an exhaust system there and they are very well known and respected.

Its still way over priced by uk standards.

I have the pleasure of having the use of a 01 model with really low mileage. They are a fantastic machine. The depreciation has more or less bottomed out on them and good ones are going for more than rough B7s in the UK.

    Nice one Kafer,

    Any advice to potential buyer?

Your at looking at a difference of 8-10k stg between the cheapest B7 RS4 and dearest B5 RS4,the cheap B7 will more than likely be snapped up but the dear B5 wont, there are a few crazily priced B5s on auto-trader and pistonheads that have been for sale for a long time.

As far as the irish market goes the B5 is definitely the more desirable due to the lower tax rate, plus with a remap you will see B7 figures. Also its only a personal opinion but i think the B7 has lost a little of what an RS car is about, its a little too in your face compared to the B5,also the B7 is available in saloon format that is just wrong*

*i wouldn't turn down a saloon RS4 its just an opinion

...actually I know the car, and the guy who tuned it....and met the guy who bought that from him in the petrol station one evening......beautiful to listen to, especially when pushed.

I think it being a B5 makes it a bit more sought after than a B7 due to our tax rules, as mentioned. Besides, I like turbo's :)

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Not to mention the VRT,there might be only 9k price difference in STG but the VRT is a completely different story.
