Hey, Somebody told me today that if you take somebody's car reg that you can get their address? Surely only Gardai are able to do that? If it is true it's kinda scary not to mention a breach of privacy and security!!?? Anyone know if it's true or not?

I have no idea if it's true or not. Instinct tells me it isn't as it would be a very strange service to provide the public with. Like why would any normal person have cause to use it?
Where did your friend say you can do it? Is it an online service? Do you ring somewhere? Does it involve bribing a public official? Did your friend seem to be unusually giggly after you became interested in the revelation? :D

And anyway, wouldn't it be as easy just to follow the car?
