    http://www.rte.ie/news/2009/0304/economy.html

''Legislation has been passed in the Dáil which would allow the Government to divert money from the National Pensions Reserve Fund to the recapitalisation of the two main banks.

The Government won the vote by 74 to 62. The legislation will go the Seanad tomorrow.

Earlier an Opposition motion to cap bankers' pay was defeated.''

sooooo, not only have the feckers decided to give our money to the banks they also refuse to cap bankers pay, disgraceful i say

just goes to show who these elected officials are looking out for

Just make sure you die before you reach 60 and you're sorted. Take a few others with you as well.

Soon iy will be better to be on the dole than working so does it matter who they are looking out for.

I think the best off people in the coming years will be the unemployed non drinkers/smokers tbh

What exactly did you think the pension levy was for? Surely not for your retirement!

If this attitude keeps up there wont be any money left to pay the dole.

    Then who is better off?

We're giving them money and they dictate the terms? Not agreeing to caps on remuneration, bonuses etc.

Surely this is wrong? We should demand a premium for our hard earned before handing it over. If they need it let hem pay for it just as any other business or individual has to.

If only our elected knew wtf was actually going on we'd get somewhere. Serves us right for putting unqualified cowboys in charge.
