Seeking Career Advice

    Hi all!
Just wondering if anybody could give me a little advice on the following:

I am a past student of LIT. I qualified in 2006 as a Civil Engineer.
Since qualifying, I have been working as a Land Surveyor. However, as a
result of the current ecomonic crisis, I have recently been made redundant
and am looking for full time employment. The problem is that I am unsure as
to where I want my career to go from here. I have been doing some research and
I THINK that I want to go into a more design-influenced discipline.
As a Land Surveyor, I have been working closely with AutoCAD and really
enjoy it. However, the work I do is all 2D and I am interested in working
more with 3D - possibly with a view to manufacturing parts using this
    programme.

I'm just wondering if anybody here has had a similar change of heart regarding
their career? If so, are their any courses/qualifications you would that recommend
    I research?

    Thanks in advance!
