Roadworks on R132 Near Dublin Airport

These roadworks seem to be going on for weeks near Dardistown Junction on R132 near airport.

Anyone any idea what sevice provider is carrying out the works, i.e. Gas Board , ESB , Chorus/ NTL etc etc.

They have temp traffic lights in operation, however the road is barely wide enough for vehicles to pass each other.

Saw a 40ft tilting against another truck on the opposite side of the road.

Its a bit of a joke leading up to an international airport to have such roadworks going on for so long.

Why cant they work at night time like the UK instead of during rush hour.

    There is the M1 available.

    Cost and noise.

It's an FCC job to put in a new foul sewer over a 550m stretch, with ESB and Bórd Gáís taking the opportunity (forward thinking, believe it or not) to lay their lines/pipes at the same time.

Don't know about you OP, but the day I use the R132 when the M1 isn't closed, packed or flooded is the day I lose my marbles :)

Those road-works/temp traffic lights are at 5 or 6 different places between Ballbriggin and Swords. Its such a total pain in the ass, and each lights sequence is slower than the previous one. Anyone know how long they will be going on for?
Its adding significantly to the M1 traffic too, as people are avoiding that road (the old N1/R132) in the mornings.

It's next to the airport, I hardly think noise is going to be an issue next to planes taking off:rolleyes:
