Aer Lingus cancelled my flight yesterday at the last minute. They offered me earlier or later flights which I did not avail of as I wasnt going to use the original flight anyway. The reason given for the cancellation was ATC restrictions. I presume thats Air Traffic Control. Am I entitled to a refund on the flight as the flight I booked was cancelled and they dont know I wasnt going to use the flight anyway? Hope that makes sense.

Quick answer is no. Factor beyond their control given as reason plus you declined their alternative flights.
