    Hi,
I hope I'm posting this in the right place - apologies if not!

We need to buy a 'run around' for hubby and are thinking of going down the route of a small van but are clueless about what we should be looking at that has good reliability, fuel consumption etc etc.
The absolute max we have to spend is about €4000 and theres one spec we need - it will have to be possible to turn off the passenger side air bag as hubby will sometimes be collecting our boy from the sitters so will be using a forward facing child seat.
Does anyone have any advice as to a starting point? And / OR Is anywhere I can read reviews on different makes and models?

    Thanks!

AFIK the 206 has a button where you can switch the passanger air bag off, maybe its the same on the carvan? Have a look at a few on carzone and ring the people sellin em and ask!

I didn't know that! ... My little fella will be in a forward facing seat soon so that's what hubby will have in the passenger seat ... so that means we can buy whatever takes our fancy regardless of being able to switch off the air bag .. great!

Now, does anyone have any recs for a make / model van?

gee....well i dunno if that is what you have on mind but VW Caddys were well received vans for their reliability and economical TDI engines, u shud pik one up for around 4k and it'll be 02,03 reg, alternatively Astra Van 1.7Diesel, or maybe Ford Focus saloon, dey go for dirt cheap money now, I sold mine there 2 months ago (for 2600e very clean 00reg) and had it for about a year, never gave me a bit of trouble and 1.6 petrol was very economical as well with decent power, good handling and sound taxwise....445e a year
