    to the right quick march.
Has anyone else seen themselves drawn more and more to right wing politics. And before the great unwashed leftist hoard jump in I dont mean nazi far right. I myself was a card carryin member of the socialist workers party. But to be honest I cant swallow that bs anymore. And why is it that as soon as you disapprove of people from other countries claiming welfare here or vast sums being given in over seas aid ur labelled a nazi.

I have spoken to people workin for concern and even they admit most of the money pumped into Africa for example is eaten up by the governments of those countries. And also people sayin people havin stopped dyin because of the reccession, well guess what the money we hand them doesn't stop them dyin ether. so its time people woke up to some truths.

And lastly freedom of speeh mean just that. I've never meet a group so adiment bout they're right to free speech as lefties. However iv never seen anyone crack down harder on people who disagree with them as, u guessed, lefties. So just to inform you free speach means listening to people who dont share ur quaint belief system and not running a revisionist out of ucd for example.

any response would be appreciated as long as its consrtuctive, if its just to call me a nazi please keep the intelectual quips to urself.

For someone who has a lot to say about free speech, your spelling sure is dire...

how did I know the first thing someone would come back on would be my spelling. I assume by commenting on the spelling, it was just a responce for the sake of it

Who are these "great unwashed hoard of lefties"?
I would consider myself to have left of centre opinions on many issues, but there isn't a day goes by where I don't use soap and water on my body.

If you want a real debate and proper responses, how about leaving those pointless old labels out of you post?

It was pointing out that you post was fairly difficult to read.

You're tarring a lot of people with the one brush, IMO. I find just as many people on the right shouting down everyone else, as those on the left doing the same. Am I the only one who thinks that instead of deciding if you're on the left or the right, it makes sense to make up your mind as is needed? That way you don't have to make a choice based on what you're expected to do.

ok ok my spelling sucks lets move on. I no the right shouts people down too, however they do not pretend to be nc eguys and I think that is mainly far right. as the the use of the tern lefty and great unwashed. An attempt at houmer as politics like religion tends to get very serious. If you read my origional post you'll see I was on the far left so included in those terms

Your posts are quite difficult to read.
However, Myers pretends to be a nice guy, so does Kruathammer. Yet their columns and polemics (along with most "right-wing" commentators) consist of sneering mockery, name calling and ridicule of anything they disagree with. They are free to do this and I have yet to see any "lefty" stop them from doing so.
Myers tried to claim martyrdom for calling "illegitmate" children "bastards", claiming that women and lefies did him down, without facing the reality of what did him down was his toddler like obsessionw ith a vaguely "bad" word.
So can you give any examples of when lefties denied you freedom of speech?

ok lets clear something up im centre right not far right. as for examples of lefties stopping free speech, as I said running a revisionist from ucd. Dont get me wrong I dont believe what the revisionist was sayin is true. However if the socialists can go on to the ucd campus i dont see why other political views cant. Also I notice indy media very proudly telling how they broke up a celtic wolves meeting and chased them down the street. Apart from the fact that there are only about 5 people in the celtic wolves and about 20 lefties turned up to chase them hardly seems fair. If a gang of nazi's turned up at a socialist meeting and started beatin them up I dont think it would have gone down to well.

Who? What was he saying? Did the people who "ran him" identify themselves as "lefties"?

yes the group who ran him were one of the ucd socialist groups I no this cause i was mates with a lot of them at the time. A revisionist in case some dont no are those who for one thing claim the holocaust never happened.

caltic wolves are a far right group that seem to mainly opperate in Dublin and dont have hugh numbers

So he was claiming the Holcaust did not happen and some people shouted down this nonsense?

What about them is wolverine/celtic? Do they wear fur? Are they associated with a football club in Glasgow?

that the holocoust never happend is of course nonsence. But it wasnt shouting, they chased the guy and kicked the crap out him. At the end of the day he still has a right to say it even if it is rubbish. Considering the guy was in his 50s and alone and got chased and beaten by bout 10 late teens early 20s it really wasnt on.

The celtic wolves as far as i know have nothing to do with the football club. there was a group woundering around Ireland and europe known as the celts long before the football team.

A revisionist is not the same as a holocaust denier. So far your thread has zero credibility.

i never said their whole belief system was based on the idea the holocoust did not happen but it is one of the things some of them spout

Im not a revisionist so i dont have an in depth knowledge of the ideas. This was not in my original post anyway. So it therefore does not void the thread. If you think it does you obviously didnt bother to read everything.

It took you 6 or 7 years to come to the conclusion that some "lefties" are anti-free speech because a group of people in UCD were intolerant of a Holocaust denier?

of course not. i was asked for a specific example. anyway since no one has yet to answer my origional question. has anyone else found themselves drawn from the left towards right wing thinking

    No

Aren't most Irish people weary of applying an idiology to all problems and tend to be more pragmatic than just left or right wing?
    My opinion only.

The Celtic Wolves are the subject of a thread of two here in the past if I recall rightly. They held a rally in the Wicklow hills I think 6 or 7 turned up, twas in the papers.

I agree with what you say man, but this is not the best place for discussing anything right-wing. Politics on boards.ie is left to extreme left and people like me and you get jumped on at ever opportunity by PC trolls. I'll pm you some sites that are better for this type of discussion.
And before ye say it, its not stormfront, there is more to Irish right-wing politics than an American neo-nazi site with an Irish section

Is there some sort of point in there somewhere?

Amazing how people who profess some sort of "right" leaning opinion spend a lot of time whingeing about how the lefties jump all over them for expressing that opinion, while at the same time dismissing any opposing point of view as coming from some unwashed, PC troll out to deny free speech...

you know what it doesnt matter if yor left or right it about time we got together and kicked allthose useless ****s out of the dail and replaced them with some competent and intellegent representitives. It doesnt seem to matter what party they belong to they are only interested in lining their own pockets and those of their buddies. I dont understand why the people in this country just take it all the time and fall for their scams and tricks so we turn on each other and forget the real issues.:mad::mad::mad:

THOSE USELESS ****S HAVE TO GO !!!!

Op, I was thinking that the opposite was happening? I don't know if this is a correct interpreation of your post but I know a lot of people who a few years back were extreme capitalists to the extent that they sincerely believe that everyone one the dole was just lazy and resented parting with chunks of their huge salaries, through tax and now many have lost their jobs and are criticising the state for the pitiful payments they receive and for not helping them. I always thought that in a capitalist society it is pretty much survival of the fittest, but the shoe is on the other foot methinks. I'm not a political person, and do believe that the left-right distinction is much much too simplistic, but I rather than becoming "right" wing I find the opposite happening- I figure at least the lefties won't leave you starving on the side of the road!!!! And regarding people from other countries claiming welfare, I think it is difficult to swallow when people from other countries have jobs and you don't as well, but I do believe that that is a primative reaction. We hear stories a lot about people coming to Ireland to sponge of social welfare and that fuels resentment even though we can't discover the figures regarding people whom come to work and contribute and those who don't. My own experience of non-Irish, EU and non-EU, in Ireland is through work, so obviously that has been a very positive one- they are in reality here to work.
