.mov files corrupt!!

Hi, if anyone can help with this problem, has been annoying me for a while now...

While i was travelling I filmed movies on an Olympus camera, which were saved as .mov files. As my memory card got full I would burn my pictures and movies onto cds.

On returning home I have transferred all my movies and pictures to an external hard drive, but somewhere along the line all my movies on the cds have become corrupt! I have sound with just a big black screen.

It is the same with all .mov files that were captured on this camera, and the same when i try to play the files directly from the cds or when copied to computer.

I know the videos were working fine when they were burned to the cds and i know i have watched the videos from the cds at some stage too...but somewhere along the line they have all been corrupted.

Is there any way to restore this type of corruption?!!? This is extremely annoying as all my videos from a year and a half of travel are gone...So any help would be super..

    Thanks!

More like a corrupt codec, re-install Quicktime and see if that solves it. Also copy the files back to the camera and play them on that and see if they work

I've tried to watch the files on a couple of different computers so it's not Quicktime. Good idea on putting them back onto the camera but no joy with that either!

I think i have lost my travelling vids forever :(:(
