maybe you mean HDMI -> DVI ?

the monitor might have to support HDCP also, don't think DVI supports sound.

You can try to connect your ps3 via digital ^^

    take notice of the speakers

i wont beable to put the red, green and white connectors in the speakers

    is there way round it

like have a connector of sorts that you can join the colours together and put it in the back of the pc or speakers

    2 Suggestions:

    a) If the place has speakers, you just pop the red and white cables into the back of them and the VGA into the Monitor.

    b) You could just plug in a headset or headphones into the PS3 itself, providing sound and eliminating other people's noise bothering you.

I had a VGA for my 360, the wire split with the the RED/WHITE wires and the VGA thing so my PC speakers worked fine.
