    Have a look at this:

    http://www.carbibles.com/suspension_bible.html

It might give you more of an idea of what a wishbone is.

Price will depend on make and model of your car.

It's the lower suspension arm that connects the ball joint, shock etc. It won't be the wishbone itself, it'll be the wishbone bushes that'll be worn and need replacing. These can be bought in your local motor factors and brought to a mechanic who will remove the wishbone and press in the new bushes. Most garages will replace the entire wishbone for a speedy fix. No idea on price for your car I'm afraid but to give you an idea: an entire wishbone for 01 golf was 40 squid.

Also failed my NCT for wishbone ball joint in the front of a 2000 Vectra. It appears that the ball joint is riveted onto the wishbone which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I understand they can be drilled out and the new one bolted on but it seems a lot of hassle. Does anyone know if its possible to buy a complete wishbone from a motor factors, how many notes would it be, and is it a tough job to replace on the Vectra? I tried a motor factors late this evening and they had the ball bearing only for 30 euro which I was thinking maybe was a bit steep and if I have to go to the hassle of drilling old one out it may be a better idea to replace whole wishbone.
