Just got a nice little 1990 civic with only 52000 genuine miles and with a FSH for free but Im having problems getting insured on it.Most place are saying that they wont insure a car over 15 years old.

    Help appreciated.

    Richie.

Ring an insurance broker. They get paid to answer questions like that!;)

A 1990 Civic is a magnet for car thieves, it's for this reason you are having problems insuring it, perhaps if you asked for third party only with no fire and theft you would get a reasonable quote. To be honest unless you have a very good steering lock and a quality alarm the car will be more trouble than it's worth as every scummer who spot's it will chance his luck robbing it.

AXA also came up a few times.

A list of insurers who do classic insurance, so may also do insurance for your car: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=221800
