Folder on my Nas-Drive will not open

Hi, I need to gain access to a folder contained on my Nas-Drive but every time I click to go into this one folder my computer stalls, the screen freezes and I am denied access. I wonder could anybody advise me on how I could retrieve the files as I really need them, and why this is happening? Cheers

I had this happen sometimes with Movie files and explorer.
I think some of my avi files were corrupt and when Explorer tried to create a thumbnail it crashed it.

I solved it by using a different file manager : xplorer2 lite (it's free)
