You cant set Ireland as your Country for the zavvi site from what I can see, so they must only post to the UK. If you can someone let me know please.

Isn't that the code you have to enter to get 10% off at TheHut in the first place? How does it work getting an additional 10%?

Everything on TheHut.com has 10% reduced already when you browse the site, but another 10% will be taken off when you enter the discount code.

I think those reductions you see are not special 10% discounts, but rather are standard policy for TheHut/Asda/sendit, and can vary greatly in value.

Those sites always advertise their own price favourably against the perceived RRP (For Example, Transsiberian is advertised on TheHut at £9.93, down from an original RRP of £17.79 - a saving of £7.86, which is considerably more than 10% of the RRP. )

The actual 10% discount only applies once you've entered the code, so from what I can gather, it's not 20% that you're getting, but rather 10% off their already discounted standard selling price.

As you can see above, the top discount is the 10% taken off to get the price indicated on site (as standard).

You're getting confused with the saving from the RRP that practically every online store quotes and 10% off the quoted price.
The actual 10% discount only applies once you've entered the code, so from what I can gather, it's not 20% that you're getting, but rather 10% off their already discounted standard selling price.
As I said, you're getting 10% off the price. All prices will go up at midnight tomorrow night. But you're getting a further reduction using the discount code quoted.

You've put a lot of effort into that, so I'll be nice.

It still just gives me the initial discount of 2.37. When the code newlook10 is entered, it simply tells me that a discount code has already been applied to my account, and no further discount is given.

As I can see from the screenshot, You are obviously correct, but with seemingly no way of seeing the compete extra discount myself, I was not to know.

Pity electronics are not included, and they will not ship books to Ireland.

Perfume and aftershave are included (Mother's day perfume ;))

I managed to pre-order Resident Evil 5 LE for GBP 35.76

Battlefield - Bad Company for the 360 is on special and works out at GBP 13.26 after the 10% off discount is applied.

To put it simply: it worked earlier - it doesn't work now!

    Proof is in the screen-shot!

yea still valid... to get the extra 10% off when you add your item to basket dont go to checkout. You click on your basket items and then it allows you to add the extra discount code 'newlook10' in the discount code box.

    Bingo!

Thanks for that. Simple, and no attitude in the explanation. Very helpful.

Did I not explain it well enough in the original post?!:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,781 ✭✭✭pissed

They seem to have fixed it now. States on the home page to enter newlook10 in order to avail of the 10% discount. So you wont be able to enter it twice. Still 10% is good to me. Thanks OP.

Are you referring to me? Where exactly did I give you "attitude" in the explanation (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=59267748&postcount=12)?

You're the one who used the phrase "You've put a lot of effort into that, so I'll be nice."

That double discount still works if you follow those instructions. Got Killzone 2 for £29.44 (+ 0.99 for post). :D

    Thanks OP and 'iggy'

According to the order that a certain family member made on my account(). There is 10% off and then 2stg off 20stg spend-which seems only to be on games. Please correct me if I am wrong! Not double 10% discounts at all:cool:

Don't think the extra 10% works at all anymore. I couldn't get the extra £2 off games either

Both were listed last night and I've an order still for the LE showing :

Resident Evil 5 [Steel Book] [XBox 360]Awaiting Stock Pick

Sorry, there seems to be some kind of misunderstanding. You appear to have interpreted a compliment & thanks given to someone else for their clarity as a personal slight against you. I'm not really sure why you would think I was attempting this, but if you did take this as some kind of insult, I can honestly say that wasn't the intention.

It's all peace and love round these parts.

Yeah gone, guess they were taking more orders than they had ordered themselves.

I got the game for 32 delivered so won't complain.
