I have been carrying a wrist injury for some time now (left wrist - leading hand), can anyone recommend a good physio or alternative medicine (accupuncture etc) in the Dublin area to treat the injury?

You could try the magnetic bracelets. I have worn one for the last 12 months because my left wrist used to be painful. (probably an old injury or something). But I find it works a treat. Maybe your injury is beyond being helped by the magnets but if not they definately help.

SteadyEddie I studied physio in college and from very simple logic you will need to identify what is causing the pain before you can diagnose it and treat the injury. There are 10 bones in the wrist with many tendons in there too. Did you fall or bang your wrist or has this been a gradual pain increasing over time. Tendonitis is a common injury and builds up over a period of constant use to a point of a really tender and sharp pain when you move it. X-rays can determine a fracture but because bones in the wrist are so small it may not show up on an x-ray. A simple sprain can be very painful but first and foremost it’s best to check with your doctor. Golf can have a high impact factor on wrists and playing on will only make your condition worse if untreated. Doctor first treatment after identification of injury second. Good luck

I know lots of people who have used this guy:

    Mark Sexton
    Manor Street,
    Dublin 7

He is both a physio and trained medical herbalist for acupuncture and alternative treatments etc. No affiliation other than knowing happy patients.

I had an accident a long while ago and the injuries reared their ugly head about 5 years ago in the form of severe sciatica. Although I didnt play golf at the time I went to all the "normal" quacks who could not help me but through a friend I heard of Amatsu Medicine and was put in touch with a lady in Monkstown, Dublin who sorted me out in a couple of sessions!!! I now go to her every so often just to keep everything in check... and it works!! The website for this is http://www.amatsu-ireland.com/index.html but pm me if you want her number. When she is treating me we chat and she says she has quite a few golfers coming to her... worth a try!!???:)
