Trying to update i-DVD and i-photo on my macbook, won't allow me due to "not having appropriate access privilege"
I'm logged on to the Admin account on my machine. Running OSX 10.5.6

Have you successfully and correctly inputted your master password when Software Update asks you for it? (Just starting at the start of where the problem could be)

Yeah, few other software updates installed with no difficulty beforehand, had eight to install, but these two didn't work...
Restarted the machine afterwards and tried again to no effect.
    Quite baffled really!

might be worth starting again from scratch; go to Mac HD/Library/Updates/ and delete these 2 unfriendly ones. Then try running software update again. Might help
