Advice in bringing a caravan from UK

I want to bring a caravan from the UK and was wondering about your experiences ..
Firstly I was thinking of driving over to Holyhead - Yorkshire in the car and towing back the caravan.
Is there a duty / tax involved with bringing it back?
Do I only need to put on a numberplate when I get back here or do I need to register / tell revenue etc? Or is it like a trailer (i.e. because it doesn't have a engine it has no road tax etc)?

Any other advice / warnings etc?

    Thanks

    Neil

Id say you need to register it with the revenue. Not to sure.
Your not going to park it on some field though yea?

Why would you need to register it? Its not a motorised vehicle!
AFAIK the only issue that there would be from importing a caravan is that it would be yet another caravan on our roads!

Fear not .. I'll park it at home and then bring it overseas to clog up other people's roads ..
Kids .. Caravans .. Recessions .. isn't it like the 'good old days' all over again!

Yes, it is a trailer. Put your numberplate on it as soon as you hitch up and thats it. No tax/registration needed.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.
