just wondering if anyone can recommend a reasonable/good spa hotel in the country. want to bring the misses away. we recently stayed in a 5* just outside cork city and found it fantastic.the misses got a taste for these but now we're kinda short of ideas for good hotels. any ideas would be greatly appreciated except for those in city centres.

Bunratty Castle Hotel. Has an authentic Thai spa and massage setup. My Mrs loves it.

The Heritage, Killenard...they have a really extensive Spa Area, hot tub, sauna, steam room, foot spas, kiln room, it's nice and social because you can spend time together going from room to room, rather than (+as well as) being separated for treatments.

This is probably the place you stayed in previously but thought I'd throw it in anyway. Was in the Sheraton on (?) Fota Island and it was excellent!

Taking the Kingsley as an example I will go back to my suggestion of the Brehon Hotel in Killarney. http://www.thebrehon.com

We stayed there in the presidential suite which is a good choice if you are after the romantic thing. I used the pool which is part of the Spa. The hotel is swarming with women in bathrobes. Very popular place. You could even tailor your stay by taking in a show at the nearby INEC.

EDIT Their own website fails to mention this room I mentioned butPICT0345.jpg it does exist.
