How much is that in €?...xe.com will only give you a commercial rate, NOT the rate you get at the bank.

  • PayPal's converter says £7.99 STG is €9.16

This seems like a better deal: http://www.mymemory.co.uk/SDHC/MyMemory/MyMemory-4GB-SDHC-Card---Class-6

It's £6.99 and is also Class 6...the one you listed is class 4, i cancelled my order at Memoryc....thanks for the heads up! :-)

Is that a Micro SD? I also don't understand the "class" stuff...

The one i listed for £7 was out of stock, so i got one for £8 instead....class 6 is related to speed. Class 6 is the fastest.

    Just ordered this item: http://www.memoryc.com/flashmemorycards/sdsecuredigital/4gbsandiskmicrosdadapter.html

€14.11 with shipping by registered mail :)
Dealt with Memoryc a few times, excellent service and very quick delivery...another bonus is they accept Laser cards :D

£7.98 (about €9) from Dvd.co.uk including shipping (Not register) used them several times and they are very good and fast.

Hi guys, sorry we were not able to beat our UK competitors in this case :) We (MemoryC.com) charge VAT on all orders (not that we want to, but we have no choice) - those UK sites listed above are based on the Channel Islands and hence they are exempt from charging VAT. We all know that the post is meant to charge the VAT upon arrival in Ireland, but realistically this does not happen (or at least, it rarely happens).
Also, we have a flat shipping fee, even for cheap items. It is something we are still considering whether to do away with - we did offer free shipping via "normal post" in the past, but it turned out to be a bit tricky in terms of delayed and lost items.
You can always PM me if you are looking for a deal on anything, if I can help I will be happy to - but sadly, on cheap memory cards like this one, we are often not able to beat shops that do not charge VAT on their orders :)

It only can happen on items of €22 or over, or €45 if marked as a gift. Usually they only go for items worth over €45 and not even then since the admin costs outweigh the funds collected.

I ordered the 8gb one on dealextreme.com last night. Worked out just over €13.

The “class” you’re referring to is a speed classification that was introduced by The SD Association when SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) cards became available. The speed class guarantees a minimum transfer speed, ensures that the speed of SDHC cards are more transparent to the consumer and makes it easier to distinguish slower cards from faster cards.

    Class = 2, 4, 6
Guaranteed minimum transfer speed = 2 Mbps, 4 Mbps, 6 Mbps.

    But they're fake!

I mean seriously I'd rather pay a little extra and get the genuine article from mymemory.

Its may be fake(or not I don't know) but I've never had a problem with them. From the read and right speeds it seems to be a class 4 SDHC.

The SDHC card Richard Dower post looks it not a micro SD card

    It's pirated memory?

LOL yeah I think so, alot of dealextreme's stuff is a copy. Usually they don't sell it as genuine branded memory though but when it arrives it has for example sony or what ever wrote on it.

Yea, that is a LOT of it going around, even from relatively large European stores. At the end of the day, if it is cheap a lot of people will buy it. The problems start if they fail, as the manufacturers will not honour the warranty - and we also hear from customers that a lot of the fakes are considerably slower that the originals.

have had a load of the kingston 4gb microsdhc from mymemory fail on me since i bought them before xmas. They either fakes or a faulty batch. They work fine for a few days and then they arent recognised by anything.

I've got a canon eos for a few years now but never got the memory card for it - will give jayo from memoryc a pm as I plan to get a card or two for it and 2 of the 320 external usb drives and one or two other items.:)

Only heard of memoryc tonight but I'm impressed with the decent prices and the upfront honesty from jayo here on boards!
