One for the SUV enthusiasts, I was driving on the Citylink road in Cork heading for the tunnel and overtook a Rangey which had a weird name on the front and back where the wordmark 'R A N G E R O V E R' would normally be. It started with the letter A, and ended with the word Field, any ideas as to what it was, etc?

Possibly one of the aftermarket jobbies like Overfinch or one of the other ones i'd say.

    Big wheels and a bodykit?

Those Kahn and Overfinch RR are vulgarity in the metal in my opinion. Probably up there with the most saleproof motors in the country as well.

Slightly off topic but there were plenty of RR/X5's/Land Rover Amazons with rural registrations around Dublin for the rugby this weekend, totally reinforced my belief that they look infinitely better with a thick coating of muck and dirt rather than preened and polished to within an inch of their lives.

    Case in point:

I dont think i'd fancy spending 100k on a motor and then drive it thru a big puddle!

Thats what the second hand 10k Defender WITH A ROLL BAR is for... :D

No, no. That's what the Chevy Blazer is for...

Much prefer to be horsing it through a big puddle then on the school run. I'm not against people buying these for that purpose but as a personal preference I think they look so much better with a good coating of muck!

Then again I do like to wash this machine after a run out in the muck, seen here bringing the dog for a "walk".:o

Jasus we bring our RR through a pot hole it has to go back to the garage and get sensors fixed. At the moment we are on our third compressor for the suspension in two years and it has packed up again on Saturday so back to the main dealer for another one:mad:

clearly ill informed... most overfinch range rover are very subtle so they don't stand out from the crowd. now apart from the badge on the grill would you know this was an overfinch?

Hey, no more Range Rover bashing.... lol

And i agree with @steve06. Overfinch is way less 'in-your-face' than the Kahn. In my opinion though, nothing beats the plain and simple Vogue SE. You can drive it, and only real car fans will notice its the SE. As opposed to looking like a footballer in a Kahn.

Apparently Land Rover have had great trouble with people coming back to them with those aftermarket Range Rover's complaining of tramlining and numerous other quality defects.

Its kind of one of my secret shames that i love the overfinch RR's.
Am i only seeing now, that it should be a shame?

If i had the money I'd have an overfinch one, and a normal one of mucking out about in. :p

Vogue SE is an awful expensive machine.

What alot of lads seem to be doing is tarting up the current RR (02+) with replica Overfinch Tiger wheels etc. which is a pity to see them so common.

I only passed a 08 on five minuntes ago coming home, black with the Kahn wheels and a few other bits. Only thing that let it down was a heavy limo tint on all windows.

A nice 3.6 TDV8 RR with the supercharged grills and a few other little bits and your on the pigs back.

I've a Kahn brochure some where for the RRS. Some of the interiors you can get are gas out lol. Pink and the likes.

Overfinch used to be much more than cosmetic back in the day. From what I remember they used to swap your typical Rover V8 (itself a Buick derived unit) and stick in a big American muscle engine as well.
