ntl pace box into dell monitor?

    Hi Folks,

I've got one of the dell monitors with tv inputs but I'm having problems getting a signal from my ntl box into it - I've tried a scart lead with 3 phono connections on the other end and I'm not getting a picture into the composite input of the dell. The pace box is set to composite out in the menu and I've tried both of the scart outputs. The monitor seems to be okay - I've taken an output from a digital stills camera into the composite input and that's behaving - anyone any thoughts on what might be causing the issue?

    Cheers!

    John

It's the 3008WFP - 30 inch jobbie with the display port.

The chances are that the cable you are using has the inputs on the phono end and the outputs on the scart end. That's usually the configuration. This would mean that your STB would be trying to output audio and video into the input of the scart, even though the scart would only output. If you can get a scart at one end and 6 phonos at the other end, you should be ok. 3 of the phonos would be composite video and L an R audio input and theother 3 would be the outputs. The scart end works both ways.

Hmm - I do have one of those and it didn't behave for me the first time around - I might have been doing something stupid at the time though. I'll do a double check and report back.

    Progress!

Turns out the scart to 3 phono cables I have don't work both ways and the scart to 6 phono has a dodgy pin or wire in it - spot of wiggling got picture for me. Down to peats tomorrow!

Usual techy thing of always believing it's something more complex than it really is :)
