B&Q in Tallaght yesterday were getting rid of extra stock - they'd found chrome & other decorative sockets, switches dimmers etc. all at €1.50 each.

Checked the displays and the same touch dimmers were going at €50 each!

Got whole house worth of sockets and switches for €60 :D

    Hi

I was there yesterday about 2pm and they had lots in the middle of the shop (just pass the seasonal display area) also lots pass the customer service on the right.

If I was a bit of a handy man would have bought a few to replace the existing.

There was a guy with 2 trollies full of them, was that you?

Did you se any outdoor plugs?

Didn't see any outdoor plugs - I heard about the guy with 2 trolley loads from the cashier -cost him about €400. I was relatively restrained -filled a basket :D

Is this only in Tallagh or does anyone know if it's Liffey Valley also ?

This just goes to show how much they must be making off them at €50 a piece.

    No Brass fitting.
    Just 3 types I noticed
    Satin Chrome 65%
    Polished chrome 25%
    Stainless steel. 10%

Most of the boxed stuff is gone.
    Plenty of cooker switches left
    Shaving sockets for bathrooms
The odd polished chrome twin floor socket

Plenty of boxed satin dimmers, though going quickly,
Some boxed single socket stainless steel left, these had a front cover that comes off http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=9289269&fh_view_size=6&fh_start_index=18&fh_eds=%3f&fh_location=%2f%2fcatalog01%2fen_GB%2fcategories%3C{10082}%2fcategories%3C{8960089}%2fstyleStyle%3E{brass_plate}&fh_refview=lister&ts=1236070233373&isSearch=false

    plenty of unboxed satin sockets.

They are displayed in 2 areas, the first is near the electrical area & the second area is at the end of the service desk with the rest of the 'bargains'.

There was plenty of the above left at 8.30pm last night

    Hiya,
Just wonder if it is worth my while travelling up (2hrdrive)
I am just at the stage of fitting light switches and sockets. Im looking for at least 20 double sockets in polished chrome and the same amount in light switches. Plus a few oddsa nd ends dimmers and a cooker switch.
What do you think, is it worth the trip, Id hate to drive up and be disappointed..
Anyone know if Liffey Valley or Swords are doing the same??? wee bit closer

There could have been some over by the lighting section - it was better organised over there - down by the bargain area was a bit of a mismash..

Not being smart but a simple phone call to the branches
might be a better bet, at least it would be up to date.
