pretty much the same squad we have had for the last 2 weeks with 1/2 exceptions so at least we have a consistent team out lately which helps.

    tough tough game tonight.

2-2 draw snatched from victory snatched from defeat.

Seriously pi$$ed off, after grinding out to a 2-1 win seconds from victory we concede:mad::mad:. And with the top team still to play coca cola we could have been top by next week.

Lads, I sure we're all feeling a bit down about this result, we need to take the positives from this. We really dug-in and put in a big effort in the second half last night. We battled hard and they didn't have many chances in the second half.
These guys are as good if not the best team we've played this season, and they will take points from all there remaining games (except the return leg with us). What we need to do is to Concentrate on winning our next game. 3 wins will leaves us in with a big shout in this league.

Keep the heads up lads, to be disappointed with a draw against one of the top teams in the league is a testament to how far the team has come. In of the first 4, possibly 5, seasons of Boardeaux's existence, the team would be well out of the running and struggling for players.

You are still in a fantastic position and as is the way in football, very few teams go from nowhere to win leagues. This seasons experience will count for a lot next season.

It's not over yet either way so keep it going.

Fair play Keith. I think Michael's comments are well on the money and Daryl's concise summary above is spot on. This would have been an absolutely fantastic result if we had snatched the victory as it was a performance of real character. If we had been 2-1 down and equalised and been the ones to pull it back to 2-2 we would have been happy with the point but the way it happened was a pure and utter sickener.

I happen to fully agree with all the complaints about the ref - he really was truly dire from both teams' perspective and you have to ask how we're paying him good money. I'll refrain from preaching what I'm only recently starting to practice but though the frustration with him was entirely understandable we need to channel our energies elsewhere.

Really impressed by the pure hunger and committment of Art and Ciaran up front - they fought for every ball and made good use of what little service they got. The game really suffered from the strong crosswind that meant wingers on the near side were out of the game - only winger to get much ball was their right winger in the 2nd half and Mick did a good job marshalling him. Result was the game was spread out with a lot of distance between our midfield and attack meaning we rarely got to pull it down and play it about, but we did fairly well overall against very strong opposition.

10 points from the last 12 in any league would be a good return and we still have the possibility to achieve that and the ability and fight in the team is not in any doubt. Plenty of things to be positive for next week....but for now it's still time to be gutted, just pure gutted!

we were about 15 seconds away from our best ever result. they are a quality team no doubt and just goes to show that the standard of this league is getting higher and higher all the time. if they had one more win, they would be contenders now and they are perhaps better than the others at the top.
looks like they had a bad start but they are the form team and if results go their way, they can finish 2nd or 3rd. the reality is, that if we dont keep our run going, we can finish 6th. thats how tight it is, but 1st is still a possibility and 2nd is defo in reach.

first half we were terrible, simply awful. Mick at Left full was the only player that played well. so many of us just gave away the ball, fell over, over ran it, we couldnt pass. it was as bad as we have played all season. we deserved to be 1-0 down, their goal was a long ball knocked down that was pelted in from inside the box.

second half, we were a different team in terms of we worked alot harder. conditions ruined the game and chances were limitied, but they never threatened in the 2nd half. while the football wasnt pretty, conditions were terrible and thats what we need to do on games like this. we got back in with a foul on art being converted from the spot by Ciaran. then ciaran set up art to put us 2-1 up with about 5-6 mins left. they pushed forward but created nothing and then last seconds, a free kick for absolutely nothing. taken quickly and then smashed in from way out. in all fairness, probably the best strike we have conceded all season as he hit it smack on and it was pretty much top corner.

we need to learn, never turn your back from the ball though as people were just day dreaming for it. shame, as would have been a cracking 3 points. oh how small things make such a difference.

so im summary, first half - shi* with no effort, 2nd half plenty of effort and hard work, better on the ball and played well overall, defended excellently.
