Did you leave it there over night? Generally you take a risk leaving your bike anywhere in college, but best advice is to just not leave it overnight or late into the night.

Oh, and did yours get stolen during rag week?

    Two things.

You can go to the security office and they will look back over the footage but even then chances are you're not likely to get it back.

Get a U-lock. Those things are fcuking unbreakable unless the guys have an angle grinder. Cables/chains are a waste of time as they can be snipped off with bolt cutters. Apparently there is a crowd from Westside who come in the odd time and steal a few fancy bikes when little Billy wants a new one

I had my front wheel locked to my bike which was locked to the rails under the concourse. I took the saddle off as it was quick release. I didnt leave it over night, but it was around midnight when i came to collect it and some tosser stole the rear wheel of the bike.... now i walk

I'd say out in front of the arts millenium is a good bet, it's open enough that people might be less likely to steal from there.

Sounds silly but you're probably better off hiding your bike somewhere, even if it's not locked, than locking it up somewhere public.

It amazes me that people leave bikes leaning up against the AM building, sans lock. Sometimes I'm tempted....just to show them their foolishness and teach them a lesson you understand!
Otherwise I think that's just as bad a place to leave a bike as anywhere tbh, after 8pm there's feck all people around and its fairly dark, dark enough that you'd have to be among the bikes to know if someone was doing something dodgy or not.

Yano i didnt really mind that they had stolen it. What really pissed me of was the other times when i had left it either ther or in town and had come back to bent tyres and broken brakes

i mean stealing it makes sense, or has a purpose for the person doing it, but why the hell is a bike such an appealing punching bag:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Those bike wheels secretly talk to drunk people and ask them to jump on them

Leaving your bike on campus overnight will eventually result in it being stolen. The thieves don't really care about CCTV as it's easy to hide your face and even if you don't the quality of 90% of footage makes it useless for prosecution.

Also, never leave a bike under the concourse.
