Has anyone here done any of the physics courses recently?

I'm in second year at the moment in a denominated physics degree, but really not liking the experimental aspect of it.
Heard a good few people saying that it gets better after second year, just wondering if anyone who's done 3rd or 4th year experimental physics has any thoughts on this?

Same thoughts as your self, doing physics in 1st year undenominated science and like the theory part of the physics course but cannot stand the experimental side of it!!!!!!
Would consider keeping on physics for 2nd year but not too sure as the lab part of it is really daunting to me:(

2nd year labs are killer. In third year you have 6 and 3 hours labs. About one third are 3 hour and the rest are 6 hour. The 6 hour labs take place over two days so, 3 hours on wednesday evening and 3 hours on thursday. The experiments in 3rd years are that bit more interesting as well. 4th year labs are more like assignments. Your given an assignment and a supervisor and the labs are left open 9-5 all week. You have 3, 3 week assignments in the first semester and a final year project in the 2nd. You need to able to motivate yourself to do the work in final year. Hope this helps
