I'm, going from Dublin to Ennis on the 13th of this month after 5pm due to work, How easy is it to get to Ennis from Limerick as the last bus i can get will drop me there at 10.10pm but theres no buses to Ennis then? The train is too expensive it's a ridiculous amount so the bus is the only option

fly to galway and get a bus from there maybe? Aer Arran were advertising tenner fares on the radio last week.

If you book it on the internet (up to one hour in advance) Dublin-Ennis is €15 single. Admittedly it may not suit at that hour. http://www.irishrail.ie/news_centre/news.asp?action=view&news_id=402

Alternatively, if you get the 1600 bus (route 20 to Oranmore, then 51) from Busáras you can be in Ennis for 2120.

i have all the times but its trying to get out of work early that day damn Cheltenham, so earliest i could head at is half 5 from work thats an hour into town if i dont get a taxi, but will cross this bridge when i come to it

I think the last train of the day is the special reduced fare as well, so if getting into Ennis a bit late isn't a problem, you can get the 20:00 train out of Heuston for only €15 as well, rather than get a midday train for the reduced fare.

There is a bus from Limerick to Shannon at 2315 that arrives there for 2400.

There is then a bus from Shannon to Ennis at 2400 - now whether this waits until 2400 is another thing given it's the last bus. However I suspect that it does connect with the bus ex-Limerick.

I would suggest that you call Bus Éireann in Limerick at 061 313333 and ask if the two buses do connect with one another.

Also, you could then take the 2000 train arriving in Limerick at 2216 which has the cheaper online fares from www.irishrail.ie of EUR 15 one way.

If all comes to all, perhaps bus to Shannon and taxi from there?

The best way to do it is to leave work an hour early and get the 5:30pm Dublin-Limerick Bus which gets into Limerick at 9:10pm and then get the 9:25 bus onto Ennis. See the Bus Eireann 51 Timetable

Otherwise an alternative is getting a JJ Kavanagh bus direct Dublin to Shannon Airport(25 Euros return) at 7pm
    http://www.jjkavanagh.ie/images/stories/timetable/Shannon-Dublin.pdf

and then getting the bus from Shannon to Ennis at midnight:
    http://www.buseireann.ie/pdf/1202386645-344se.pdf

or else a taxi to Ennis from Shannon.

Best option is to get out of work early on the Friday evening.

ok have another quick question,Ennis to Kilrush is there a local bus time table floating around because the CIE websites are the most unnessacerrily unhelpful ever

With all due respect it's very easy to find the Bus Eireann printed timetables.

Click on "Your Journey"; "Printed Timetables"; and select "Local/Rural/Commuter".

Then select the relevant area - Clare within the South Region and there is a full list of timetables.

    Route 336 does the job.
