Hi guys,

I'm planning on visiting Egypt this July for 5 full days, before moving on to Greece. There's a chance that I might be travelling alone (as my friends arent as interested in seeing Egypt as I am). I was wondering have any of you guys travelled alone to Cairo and/or Alexandria? Is there a good hostel that you stayed in? Is it easy to meet fellow travellers in Egypt and socialise and go for drinks with them? Or is this uncommon in Egypt due to it being a muslim country restricting places where you can drink? I guess basically what I'm asking is whether Egypt is a good backpackers destination and is it easy to meet many people travelling from Western countries?

If anyone has travelled with friends but stayed in hostels it would be great to hear from you aswell.
