Hi DecTipp,

that's a powerful motivator and as good a reason as any to start your own business. Best of luck and make it good.

Well the positives are - you have some captial, an intention to start a business, and as you live at home your personal 'overheads' are likely to remain low.

The negative is that asking for ideas with that level of detail supplied is unlikely to generate the response you need.

You will get a better response here ( i think), if you post up some sort of idea and then watch as people make suggestions related to it.

Hi Lplated, We build online business ideas, and we have a few ready to go, if you contact me on <snip> I can put a few ideas in front of you, the best thing about online business`s is you can run them from a laptop from anywhere, no office no staff. Micheal.

How do you sell an idea?

Easy, you just bundle it with a free bottle of Snake Oil.

You did not read my post, we build these systems for the customer, I do not want to go against the rules of the Forum and put our company up, it might look like advertising.

More than 25 years ago i told my then wife that I never wanted to run my own business. Too much hard work - saw my father do it.
Two years later just after our son was born, I gave up the day job and started to work for myself.
The reason I started working for myself was because there was a particular thing I wanted to do and my then employer didn't want to branch out into that business.
However, I totally miscalculated the market, but was saved by a new development in the market that I wasn't even aware of. The business paid the mortgage and raised 2 kids for quite a few years.
SO, be sure about what you are doing, better if you are interested in it, and RESEARCH.
Asking friends does not count as research, asking strangers does.

Hi - I have helped a number of start-ups and newly established businesses so if I can be of any assistance as a business mentor just ask. I would suggest you get involved with something small to start. Perhaps a product or service you can promote part-time in order to find your feet. The idea of working for yourself is usually far removedfrom the reality!

Some people have already said it, don't expect those here to come up with the idea for you. We don't know much about you apart from what we can take from your posting history. Tell us a little about what you are good at, what's your experience.

For those that make it working for ourselves there is a great sence of achievement, but it's not for everyone. I love the freedom it gives me, I have a young growing family and it allows me a lot of flexibility but it took me 3 years a some sleepless nights to reach the pay level I would have meet or pass what I would have been earning if I stayed working for 'the man'.

Tell us a little more, this could be the first test of your commitment to the idea, will we hear back from you.

But best of luck anyway.

I have an Online business idea almost ready to go. I need a partner to build and look after web site and to promote product in return for a % of turnover. I do not want to buy this service.

We raise private equity for investment opportunities like this - in your case you may need three additional bodies to join you. Funder as there will most likely be some cash requirement to get this up and running, secondly the technical partner to develop and maintain the concept and thirdly a commercial partner. Obviously one would hope that you can combine one or two on these but in the real world you would be very lucky to achieve this. Also the maturity of your concept will play a big part in bring such groups to the table.

If you would like to talk to the OP then ask him to PM you, please don't post personal details/email addresses.

Do not post a business email address on this forum again.
Warned.

The Online business idea that I'm working on is to sell help, advise and consultation to men (for the moment) suffering from sexual dysfunction. I will look after those bits of the business. I need a partner, or as Sgiff suggests, partners to look after the rest.
