    Hi Folks

Having played rugby and gone to many Iirish international matches, what always fascinates me is how these scumbag touts get thier hands on tickets. My wife and I were lucky enough to get tickets for yesterday's match, through a club contact. But what reaaly annoys me is the amount of rugby fans who cant get tickets and the touts always manage to get them. My question is when tickets are so tight and only get allocated to clubs etc how come these vermin can get them?. I thought these tickets can be traced etc, more needs to be done to stop touts preying on rugby fans, we have a great game in the game of rugby and there is great comradery between oppositon fans and people helping each other out, but our game needs to put a stop to these people, everytime I go to a match there they are, plus if people buy from them how do they know they are buying a geniune ticket? it could be forged. In the past I have watched a game on tv as opposed to byuing from touts. Sorry for the rant folks, but we dont need these kind of profit makers in todays economic climate

When I was at school an old lad used to come over and ask lads to get him schoolboy tickets,he used to pay them and buy them fags etc.
I would imagine lots come from schools,it seems they dont even check schools boy tickets in Landsdowne anyway, not sure about croke park.

they're like parasites, and they're always there in the background at every big event not just rugby

    You're dead right.

    It's only a rant if it's non-sensical, but you're on the money.

I don't know how they do it, but somehow touts get their hands on tickets.

I don't think it's so bad in rugby, with most tickets distributed through clubs (although this could be the tout's source, really hope I'm wrong).

It has been a big problem with All-Irelands for a few years.

If people are gullible enough or desperate enough to pay over the odds for a ticket, touts will always exist. :(:(:(

I hate touts, they are thieves and scumbags. They ruin the game for genuine fans who can't go to sell out matches or be held to ransom paying 300%+ of the tickets price.

I would love to know how they get the tickets and find out why it isn't being stopped. I've been forced to buy off a tout on one or two occasions MAX when I was younger and desperate for tickets to games I had no contacts for, and I was completely ripped off and I really regret giving those scum bags my money.

I'd unfortunately refuse to go to a Leinster v Munster Heineken Cup final, or an England v Ireland World Cup final if it meant I had to support the existence of touts.

hate them with a passion, but its simple really club gives john 2 tickets , john and his mate travel up for the big game , find out that they can watch the match on tv and get €200 for the tickets and have free drink all day.

they sell the tickets to touts who increase the price again. so in a way alot of the touts are fed by "fans".

My hubby couldent get tickets for a match years ago and a guarda outside Landsdown road overheard him and tapped him on the shoulder and gave him two tickets that some fan, who couldent make it to the match had given him.He also told him guards are often given tickets this way,by real fans who dont want to sell them to touts. My son has gotten tickets this way also(they dont always have them).Mostly someone in the pubs will sell them at face value, real fans that is.

A Garda is always a good one to ask for any ticket at any big game, GAA, soccer or rugby.

Touts will always be around as long as there is a market.

An approach that has been taken by some US sports teams is to have a legal ticket exchange area outside the ground where people who wish to get rid of tickets can sell them at face value to people looking for them. This area is monitored by both police and team/stadium officials.

If you don't mind missing the first few mins of a game go to the tout once the game has started, those tickets are useless in their pockets if they go unsold so you are in control at that stage.
