Think I'm fat for my age.

Well I am male and 25 and I think that I am above the average weight or healthy weight for my age. I lack the motivation to exercise and while I do not feel I eat to much 'rubbish' food I tend to eat very large portions of my meals and I often eat when I am bored.

I would like to know if someone could tell me what a healthy weight would be for someone my age? If you could post it in stones and pounds that would be great. I am purposely leaving out my weight for now until I see some responses but I'll post it later.

    thanks!

What height are you? A typical healthy weight will vary according to height.

Simply having posters posting a guideline weight might be what you want OP but it won't tell everything.

Sure a rugby player at your height might greatly outweigh you but they could be in fantastic shape.

I am 6 foot 1. Also I wear a size 34 jeans which recently have started feeling tight even without a belt.

It will help me to find out if I am above average for my age / height.

Yes but surely a lot of their weight would be in muscle form? Where as mine is just fat, mostly around my stomach and hips?

TBH 6 foot 1 with a 34 inch waist doesn't sound too bad. But it's hard to judge as everyone is different.

Can you grab a fold of flesh from your body or does your flab jiggle? If you do, then you're probably overweight.

    Great... :P

OP I wouldnt worry, just cut out the eating while bored and I'd say you'll be grand. Maybe switch that with some light weightlifting while watching a show or something.

Im 25, nearly 6" 2', weigh 11 stone 10 pounds, work out 5/6 times a week and can still grab a fold of flesh! My BMI is perfect but people always say I should weigh more for my height. OP around 12 stone or so is about right for your height.

Which is exactly why I posted giving numbers might not be accurate. :)

At 6'1 and a 34 waist you are certainly not fat.

It would be a lot simplier if you just tell us your weight so we can say if you're overweight or not.

I know waist vs height isn't everything, but at 5′11″ and size 32 I've been underweight enough to affect my health without switching down to size 30. So, I'm not inclined to think 6′1″ and size 34 is particularly fat.

OP, no offence now, but really what do you expect us to do.

The Healthy Weight change's with height to weight to age Ratio.

If you feel you are overweight, stop procrastinating, GFTO and start hitting the pavement. Motivation has nothing to do with it, it is a made up phenomenon that people use to stop themselves working out.

Here is a quote that was said to me, and started me getting fit.
No matter who you are there is always someone fitter than you and faster than you. And while you sit around looking for motivation, they are out training.

If you want to get fit and healthy, then stop being lazy, ajust start running, even if you hate it and you are bored. Keep going.

But don't go on the internet complaining about it, because that does not help anyone.

Also, healthy weight is nulled if you are actually fit. I know a guy who is 6 feet tall, 225lbs. But fit as an ox. He is well above his "reccommended weight", but is healthier than most people I know. Due to muscle.

Not Get out and run around the block.

That it's a really innaccurate thing to say, i'm 5'10", i weigh just under 11 stone and i can grab a bit around my waist, yet i am regularly called skinny...
