i do shoot in midelton, what in particular would you like to know. the only pointers i would tell you is to walk the land in daylight check for livestock and is it safe to shoot..ie into a solid bank\ditch. dont shoot at the first set of eyes you see. take your time it will all fall into place after a few nights out.
now is a great time to start the long evenings you wont need a lamp, then in the winter you will now what the story is.

In fairness he doesn't mean what you are suggesting. If you read his post again you will see that he said ' the lamping game'. This means lamping as a sport not actually lamping game which is something totally different.

Ya, the "the" is the difference :P

Looks like the olde Cork - Galway rivalry is still there :)

I have just read through that post again and there's some very good info in there.

Also just finihed reading "Foxing with Lamp and Rifle" by Robert Bucknell 2008 edition. A very good read and well worth the £30 +p&p, in fact I couldn't put it down until it was finished.

You should buy Robert Bucknells book, "Foxing with Lamp and Rifle", has excellent information and tips in it.

It's a bit late in the season to be lamping anything, most animals have just or are about to give birth. Unless you'd get a specific call out for loses most sportsmen are winding up their lamping season.
