Car damaged can I legally drive it?

    Hi all need some advice.
Had an accident today and the front bumper, drivers light, bonnet and drivers wing damaged.
The wheel has not being damaged and the car drives fine (as far as i can tell).
This occured in Cork and I have to get back to Dublin tomorrow.
So my question is, can I drive this car back if I do it during daylight hours (so damaged light won't be required)?

AFAIK you can't have any sharp edges exposed and I'm guessing that if a gaurd stops you with a busted headlight he won't care if you tell him you'll have it home before it gets dark...

Depends on how bad the damage is. If its light you likely get away with it, if it's bad (e.g. bonnet crumpled up) then it could attract extra attention.

Eirther way I doubt it's legal since the headlight is damaged and most likely the indicator too. You might get a considerate guard if stopped especially if the car is not too distorted.

If you do decide to drive I suggest you first thoroughly check the brake hoses for possible nicks. The I suggest you take it easy, stay off the motorways and make absolutely sure that nothing is going to fall off on the way and that the bonnet latches properly. You don't want loose parts catching the air even at reasonably slow speeds. I presume you'll also check the rad and hoses are ok but bring a bottle of water just in case.
