I want to buy a new game to while away the long winter nights and I've narrowed it down to 3 (in no particular order of preference):

    1. Killzone 2

    2. Fear (the new one cause I've got the first 2 for my pc)

    3. Resi Evil 5

Now to help with the advice, my favourite games are Uncharted, COD 4, & Dead Space. I like the supernatural elements of Fear and Resi Evil but I loved Killzone on the PSP. However funds won't stretch to more than one I'm afraid, so which would you buy??????

    Fear 2 is ****
Resi 5 isn't out for a while and could be disappointing
Killzone 2 is out and meant to be quite good.

    That should make it simple.

    Matt Hazard: Eat Lead

As all the adverts say for it "get ready to blow your load", seriously that sealed it for me there

I'm not completely sold on it. Will Arnett in the lead role makes my inner arrested development fan want to buy it but the gameplay so far looked very samey.

I'd wait for Ace Combat 7 if your into those type of games. Hawx felt very sloppy to me. I think it just got the mix all wrong. The cockpits from what I saw in the demo are very poor compared to Ace Combat 6 and Over G Fighters which have all the 3d cockpits pretty much spot on for all fighters.

I liked being able to exceed the AoA and G limits with the F-15 S/MTD taking advantage of the canards. The stall effects I thought were good with the engines flaimng out, and the vapor pouring off the leading edges.

The main things that bugged me were in errors and lazyiness in the accuracy of 3d models. Tom Clancy are ment to be in some way realistic as they tend to be with their shooters but with Hawx it's more arcady than Ace Combat which is ment to pure action arcade.

Things like the afterburner flame always being on and having US missiles on Russian fighters. Would it have killed them to look up Russian missiles and model them instead of every fighter having sidewinders. Also proper cockpits of each fighter and not the half baked ones they stuck in. This is all play school stuff for console flight games these days.

The 3d models of the fighters are all a little off and not up to the standard of the latest Ace Combat which is near photo realistic 3d models.

Hawx is trying to pitch towards both types of flight gamers but deep down its leaing towards a casual blast where the player does not have to think too much about what to do and how to do it as there is so many assists the game can nearly play itself. While that may and will appeal to the masses to get the max game sales does not work for me. I was hoping for more from this game but I keep forgetting the TC name does not mean anything like it did 10 years ago.

To anyone who's played Killzone 2, is it a good fps or just another linear generic boring game a la HAZE?

I loved the Fear games on the pc so would be surprised if the new FEAR for the ps3 was sh1te. Anyone played it???

I've played the Resi Evil 5 demo a few times and it just doesn't impress. The locals/zombies look they they are stuck in slow motion and its too easy to blow them away.

For those of you who thinks its spring, the evenings are still too dark too early and the days are cold wet and miserable so it doesn't look or feel like spring to me.

Fear pales in comparison to Killzone. It's a good enough shooter but extremely bland looking next to Killzone. Killzone also has an excellent online mode.
    Get Killzone.

    It's a no brainer...Get Killzone 2!

The game is amazing. The graphics will leave your jaw on the floor and the excellent gameplay on top of that will leave your jaw mopping up the saliva.

Just bought Killzone 2 and will play it tonight.

Whats this I've heard about the default control set up - its supposed to be sh1te? Any opinions before I start mashing the dualshock 3 to pieces?
