My headlamp has just gone and I have to drive country roads tonight.

Have a 04 Xsara and 1st time I have had to change the bulb. Took off rubber cap and can get my hand on the bulb but there seems to be a metal clip holding it in and no matter what I do it wont free up. Squeeze/push/pull aarrgh:eek:

Any ideas anyone because I am starting to panic!

Any and all help greatly greatly appreciated

There's a "knack" to getting that clip off. You'd be as well leaving it 'til the morning so you have enough light...

I guessed as much. I am keen to change it tonight though as I have to drive. I have a torch so light is not the issue.

Dont suppose you could explain said knack, would be very much appreciated

It's one of those tasks where if I was doing it now, I'd have it done in 20 seconds, but to explain it, I don't know where to start!

I'll see if I can find a diagram on google... brb....

I'm not sure about the clip on the Xsara but a lot of these clips open like a door, on the "latch" side of the clip there may be a piece of plastic sticking out from the headlight with the clip hooked under it to secure it. Press down on the clip to release it.
