Remote record, no phoneline, a work-around?

Never had a phone line, so paid sky their extra no phone line fee upon SKY+ setup 6 months ago.

Now I want to use their remote record feature, but to set it up the box needs to dial out on a one time only basis through sky active.

The question is can I bodge this by bringing the box up the road to my parents, hook it up to their phoneline, dial out, then return back to my place with an remote record activated box.

In cas you are wondering I have no intention of remote recording via mobile phone, it's more from the PC I will be doing it.

Any help or views on this would be great (maybe remote record is scutter and I am wasting my time).

Yes you can do this , only issue I can see is if your parents try to do the same thing in the future, i'm no sure whether or not sky use caller ID for the set up.

It's a pretty cool feature actually, and depending on your phone type you can download a Sky Anytime App, which will bring up Sky's EPG on your mobile!

I'd class it as one of those "nice to haves" cos in all honesty I've only used it 2 or 3 times over a year!

Thanks Tony and JoeA3. I will try it tonight.

Would you forsee any problems with problems with my parents just having regular SKY not SKY + when the dial out occours, as I will only have one co-ax cable going into the box?
