Lost Taxi Certificate so cant tax the taxi without it

Not sure if this is the right forum, posted in Commuting also! hope this is right but does anyone know how someone would go about getting their taxi certificate reissued, and if it costs much? Asking on behalf of a friend new to taxidriving, they lost all the documentation for the car, nct cert tax book etc, and are in process of getting them all back, but they need the taxi cert to tax the taxi!

Any help would be gratefully appreciated, by me and by my mate (who thankfully will bugger off annoying me once I get them the info!)

there is noting call taxi certificate,there is psv licence which you get after passing you exams with carriage office,then to get ur car ready for taxi you will need to book for an nct,Nct would now conduct there test on the car ,once pass an nct including suitability certificate will be issue, with visuore sign on the windscreen.
the id card are issue by the taxi regulator including the display dashboard card,if your friend is having any problems he can contact the nct at www.nct.ie also he can get assistance if he loss his dashboard card/id card,from www.taxiregulator.ie furthermore to renew his license he can contact the carriage office ship street dublin or the nearest gardai station ,where they will be able to trace his lost licence for him by checking his name with carriage office,i think there would be a surcharge for it.hope this help you on behalf of ur friend .http://www.taxiregulator.ie/industry-FAQs.html#restoration

Thanks, Ive asked him, and basically after he got the car NCT'd he left all the docs somewhere and cant find them, so it must be his PSV cert he has lost somewhere. Its not the ID from the taxi that is still there. he passed NCT a few weeks back, now the tax is up, hence the panic to get the PSV licence to show when taxing the car...

Thanks for the info, have got the number from the websites for him to call tomorrow or Monday.... hope it works out not too expensive...

oh just found out after the nct it was the resissued taxi licence he received then, thats what he lost.... i will refer him to NCT also they can reissue the nct cert for €12.70 maybe they can reissue the licence, after all they must have it on database! if anybody does have any info that may help please let me know

good ,ask him to go to nct tomorow and ask them to reprint the suitability certificate for him that s all he needs i suppose,those guys use to rake the taxi drivers head ,so he wont get it for nothing trust me,have a good eve
