Hi, i recently got a q acoustics 1010i sound system and am having trouble setting up surround sound for sky box.

I can get the sound up but can't change the volume.

My sky box has no hdmi slot so using a scart lead and seperate yellow/white cables for the sound into the "pre-out-surround" slots. These slots are the only ones that gave me sound, so either i have the wrong connection, or there's another way to control the volume that doesn't involve any of the remotes or the manual knob on the front.

    Any help MUCH appreciated.

    Cheers.

    Sorry just re-read the post.
Not into your amp's pre out, that's nothing to do with 5.1. Use the RCA cables in a stereo input on your AMP and use virtual surround mode.
    (Nice speakers BTW)

I have an amp, with a 100Si active subwoofer.

Its a complete q acoustics 1010i system with 5.1 speakers (5 speakers), an amp, and subwoofer.

I just need to know what slot to put audio connections into and/or how to control the volume.

I can have the speakers booming out for sky, but i just can't control the volume. Mute or loud. Only options at the moment.

    Cheers.

On your 763 make sure you chose your source>
In this case DTV/CBL , on the back of your Amp their is a string of inputs.
Look for the yellow input for DTV/CBL and red and white also with DTV/CBL.
If your 763 is connected via HDMI go to the 3 option menus and enable video up scaling.
On the fount of your AMP press the audio selection button repeated until it shows ANALOGUE.
Lastly on your remote set the field mode of surround decode(recode)

You sure there's no digital audio out (optical or coax) on the sky box?
