Webpages won't open

    Hi all,

Apologies if this has been covered. Trying to fix my brothers laptop. He uses a 3g modem but even though it is connected no webpages open. Just a white screen. Checked all settings and they seem fine.

    Any help?

    Thanks.

I use 3G as well and I have seen this happen a good few times before. Try closing everything and rebooting the computer. This has worked for me before. Also, lately I have been connected and everything has been working fine. Then for some reason(im presumming bad reception) it stops working, receiving nothing in the 'Receive Current' tab. Reboot fixes that too.

When you try to access a webpage do you see any data transfer in the 3Data Modem HSDPA Gui?

Yes there is data being sent and received.

What was originally wrong with his laptop? And what was done to fix it? Were any drivers or applications updated?

HE says nothing was updated except antivirus subscription. I reset everything and it reconnected but it won't open any pages. It's the usual error ' could not connect bla bla',

Try turning off the anti-virus software and then retry.
Is there any pop ups about installing activeX or something like that?
    Try reintalling the 3G software.

I turned off the antivirus software and the internet worked fine. Going to reinstall norton from a disk I have.

Thanks for all the help mate.
