Where East meets West in a marriage of convenience,
The distance between them immeasurable by miles,
His steadfastness in approach his greatest asset,
Her need for excitement unmet and un-noticed,

Quierying eyes cut a furrow deep within him,
Hides his shame in the house till time to depart,
Not love that they share but fear of isolation,
Their contempt for others the glue that binds,

In his heart he will never leave her,
His bed in the past so empty and cold,
For her sins this good man full of shame,
Till her days end a life unfulfilled.
