Metabolites of cocaine no less, I wonder is this an isolated case or could it be a bit more widespread than we'd like to think? Might explain a few players highs and lows.....TAXI!:p

Put simply he was a fool.... I seen an interview with Bath a couple of weeks back where the players were saying he's a great guy and they'll stand by him somehow I can't see it

I wouldn't mind but he is a good player

Its the minimum ban. Wendell Sailor received the same.

It's a recreational drug that in no way enhances performance. It shouldn't be tested for and I think it's a real shame for Stevens. What he does in his personal life is his choice. Hope to see him back in 2 years.

It's much the same as Ronnie O'Sullivan been stripped of the Irish Masters cause he smoked a spliff.

Methinks you've some reading to catch up on. Start with the IRB anti-doping guidelines and then when you've finished head across the ditch westwards and check out the NFL guidelines. Its a banned substance (reasons why are also clearly outlined) full-stop.

Stevens will have been expecting a two year ban from the moment that he waived his right to have his b-sample tested. Regardless of the legalities of the substance and people's opinions of it, he used it knowing that it was a prohibited substance and that he risked a lengthy ban.

From reading some of the UK rugby forums it appears that there had been a rumour doing the rounds about certain (unnamed) Bath players and their activities in one of the cities clubs for a while. It was only a matter of time before someone was caught.
