Chris Zatta, who's been a writer on the show since season one (he wrote "Parasite") has gotten the chop and apparently it's not just him. This is a quote direct from him

"On another point, I am sad to say that I am no longer with Heroes. NBC decided to cut back on the budget for the show and part of that plan involved downsizing on the lower level writers."

He also wrote "Dying of the Light" and the latest episode, "Cold Wars"....
