    Hi,

See that shotguns seem very cheap. Is this coz they just look good but dont really have any use or are they worth getting. Just wondering.

Depends on the shottie. TM shotties are great, 3-shot burst and nicely accurate. They're 200-250 each though. DE do clones of them for about 40-50 which are just as good but with full plastic construction. There are plenty of gas shotties too, mainly firing single shot or being shell ejectors, neither too useful in a skirmish. There are 8mm ones too but they're similarly single shot gas ones. Gas ones are usually around the same price as the TM ones.

The most skirmishable of the lot is the DE one for forty bucks.

i got one... cheap and cheerful. never skirmished but good power. Its only for fun but someday it might be required. 18rd mag and 2 mags extra r cheap.

    its a remington m47 for €30. 2 mags €6 seairsoft.net

If you don't have a rifle alreadt a shotty can be a bit of a laugh, but really just a laugh, only the almighty Scope can get kills with a shotty in a scrim.

    Are shotguns rubbish
    Short answer No!

tm tri barrels and their clones are good and very very skirmishable, they feel a bit toyish in comparison to metal bodied shotguns though but perform well.
acm 6mm and 8mm gas Mossbergs are my own personnel favorites for skirmishing, Ive been using shotguns since day 1 week in week out and trust me they are lethal.

    no they are not rubbish!

i have one of the double eagle 3 barrell shot guns (the one with no stock) and i have to say im very happy with it. i got 7 kills in one game in the warehouse with it:D it takes shells each one holding 30 6mm bb's and it fire 3 shots at a time.

get one for 40 quid......why the hell not:)

short answer as always is go to a site fire one you'll see i personally couldn't have a plastic shottie cos they don't feel right

As far as the TM 3-shot shotties go:

    They're light.
    They're cheap.
They're very accurate. Essentially they're short to medium range sniper rifles!
They've got decent range due to the decent fixed hop.
    They're rock solid.
Most importantly though, they're FUN & SATISFYING to use!!! :)

That said though, it is only 10 shots per shell, so if you're planning on using it as a primary, you'll need plenty of spare shells, and you'll need to get into the swing of speedy reloads and counting your shots is essential.
If you're using it as a primary, you'd definately need a pistol and a couple of spare mags as a backup. Or perhaps even an MP5K or a Skorpion. The TM shotties chrono at about 240fps with 0.2g. So it's easy to be outranged or caught on the reload.

To skirmish with them effectively though, you WILL probably need to change your style of play. You need to be a sneaky bastid, choose your shots well and make them count.
If you play like you would with an AEG, you'll fail utterly.

Although there's nowt wrong with failing as long as you're having fun. :)

True, and an other pro for the double eagle camp....at least then if you fail, it only cost forty euro, and not two hundred.

shot guns are animal my friend bought one for 50 quid (three shot) and he brought it to the warehouse today we all thought it would be useless then he comes along and clears a room from the end of a hallway :D we were speechless so yeah shotguns are brilliant

I've found that in the warehouse, having a few lads with shotguns really speeds the game up. I certainly find that shooting from the hip with the shotgun makes me move around more, play more aggressively.

Definitely worth the 40 quid. The DE clones even come with a free speed loader. Can't go wrong :-)

also don't underestimate the psycological impact on the other team when you walk onto the field with a big ass shotgun slung over your back:D

it all depends on where you play i got one of the 40 squid DE jobbies from Eirsoft and i brought it every wednesday and never used it, my main AEG wasn't working so i brought it out and loved every second of it, they are stupidly light and with a bit of practise and some spare shells they are lethal

Tm shotguns are not cheap but they are fantastic, and the fire at about 265.

Defo, got one their when they opened. My god the fun i have had with it. I got the stockless one. The best 50 euro i have ever spent on airsoft stuff.

It comes with a sling, speedloader and a shell that holds 30bbs. Great value
