I have (what most people would describe as - I actually enjoy it) a terrible time sleeping. I work nights so it's all good. I'm definitely a night owl. Usually going to bed round 4/5am and waking up around 12/1pm. The thing is, in a while, I have a VERY important interview and I need to be at my most alert, possibly more alert than I've ever been! So how do I do this? The interview is at 12. I know I'll have trouble sleeping as I'm going to be quite excited and I don't want to take sleeping tabs as that might make me dopey the next day.
I'm thinking not drinking the night before, arranging to meet someone for brunch before it, that kind of thing. The last thing I want is to wake up at 11.30 and run out the door to it!

    I need to be sharp
    I need to be quick
    I need to be charming
    I need your help!

    Thx btw :)

    Your official Dirty Daddy :P

    Set alarms. Many of them.

Across the room, in other rooms, etc. If you live with someone get them to wake you, or get someone to ring you in the morning. Give yourself plenty of time too.

But will that increase my alertness? That's my main problem, I usually only become fully alert at around 6 or so.

Carry a bucket of ice cold water to the door of the interview building.
Once there pour it over your head.

    Pay me now.

Nah, interview for college. Going back as a mature student, by the time I graduate we'll all be rich again!

Or we'll have haircuts like these:

And it'll be the end of the world as we know it etc...

Drama and Theatre Studies in Trinity. So I have an interview and a 3 hour workshop. Hence needing to be alert.

    :D

Very excited, I've been looking forward to it for ages.

Fair play, I'd love to be good at that stuff, but I couldn't act my way out of a brown paper bag!!

Best of luck with it! :)

Not really in it for the acting tbh. I want to become a professional director eventually but I want and need to know the basics of backstage, dealing with actors, the history and the why? first.

em, i know it sounds weird but have a shower with your eyes closed.
your brain works extra hard to compensate for the missing sense of sight and must work quickly to use the other senses to help you. this wakes you up and helps make you alert.

showering is the safest thing because its a small space and you know where everything is

Really? I always wondered why it felt good to close my eyes in the shower.
