Snowboarding lesson in Kilternan

Had a snowboarding lesson in Kilternan earlier, and as a skier of five years, who never took the plunge, I would highly recommend getting a lesson here before a trip away!

The instructors name was Nick, a real nice bloke, and I was lucky enough to have a small class size (just 2 of us!). He knew what he was doing and more importantly, what I was doing, and was very good at giving direction, even if I wasn't :p. When we started off sliding on the toe edge I immediately felt this isnt for me and that I will stick to the ski's... but after a couple of runs I was really enjoying it.

The facilities aren't the best, the equipment is a little dated, its nothing compared to snow so no point in trying to compare it, but they are good friendly people there and the instruction was top class. I didn't cream myself or break any digits which I feared I would, and they provide bum boards if your worried about the aul tail bone...

All in all, well worth the 45 balloons for the 2 hrs...

Mind you as a regular skier, it did feel a bit like cheating :o
