Are these legal ? the 100mw 2.4Ghz transmitters and how illegal are they.

    http://www.eirsec.ie/Wireless-CCTV/2-4G-Wireless-CCTV-Transmitter-Kit-500m/

    and

    VC-2-MS-TM-HI on this page:

    http://www.rfconcepts.co.uk/wireless-2_4Ghz.htm

where they state the range is 1km and the transmisson power is 100mw but also warn that the transmitter is not licensed for use in the UK or USA (and is the basis of my question really).

Also if anyone has any experience of Avermedia DVR's good or bad I would be interested to know, I sent an email to their global website and it bounced.

    Tks,
    Owen.

    Hi Owen,

Wireless isnt as policed here as it is in the UK. We can use a lot of 2.4ghz and 5ghz here with out a worry, some though can interfere with emergency services so do be carefull..!

I wouldnt use either units you had specified. I presume it is for domestic purposes is it? Avermedia is not a brand I would use myself, but each to there own. On the wireless side here is a link of a supplier I use (trade only) but RCL are one of the best wireless transmittor companies. They are not cheap though. Have you a strict budget? Maybe we can point you in the direction of an in between solution?

By the way the wireless you had sourced will def not work..!

This is what you'd need to do 1km:

Let me know if I can be of anymore help.

Is it for remotely monitoring a building? How many cameras?

3 cameras, 2 on an existing lighting pole.
