That U2 pic got me thinking. I thought it was U2 in Olympic Studio but I've been told that it might be Hansa in Berlin.

What's the best studio you've ever been in?

Ye have lots of nice studios in Dublin! :)

For me, it was Realworld 12 (!) years ago. I have a picture of me sitting on the 96 input SSL looking like a total culchy. Beautiful place. Fabulous atmosphere, really lovely people working there. I think they might've been havin' a little laugh at human perception when they called it "Real" :)

    kinetEc

it was behind oxford circus at the back of kinetec records store. they ran hazchem & c.o.s.h.h. records from there aswell as infectious distribution. gone since about 01/02 i think.

it was analog heaven for tech heads, 3 303's (1 devilfish mod), a pro1, moogs, 909s, 808s and a ton of other stuff all thru a neve desk (cant remember the model now but it it was about 48 channel)

Ive been in a few in London as I used to work in Red Bud studios in marlyebone London so I would often get to move from studio to studio.

Ive been in Metropolis, Abbey Road, Strongroom & Sarm West

my Fav was Strongroom just had something special and maybe it was because I had my 1st job interview there when I was 17 :) about 16 years ago :( eeeeeeeeek !!

I remember the Red Bus name ok.

Strongroom , to my mind, is a business model for Studios for the future. Low on frivolities but has all the technical boxes ticked.

Metropolis just seems so dated in concept to me. In fact whilst I was there they were converting one of their old mix rooms into a mastering suite - a sign of the times I guess.
