I found the web site of golfonline.co.uk from another thread and priced a new set of wilson di9 steel shaft delivered for 350 euro
I then rang american golf and they were asking 425 for same club (5 to sw) told the fella about online price and if he could get near it i would rather keep the money in the country he said he could do it for 370 euro

I then rang mc guirks and told them same story they were looking for 450euro . itold them the price american golf were doing it for and he said come in and he will match or try and better it
SO DONT PAY THE FERRYMAN TILL HE GETS YOU YOUR NEW EQUIPMENT
There are good deals to be had with some old fashioned bartering

Nevada Bob's in Belfast were doing the Di7 irons for £245.

Are the Di9s any better......if not then I'd go for the Di7s.

the di9s are the newer set as a result the price of the di7s has dropped
not sure if the di9s are any better but the wilson website says they have a few more features

As a general rule I will never go with someon just matching another price - if thats the best they can do I would go with the first one to offer that price.

McGuirk's will pretty much always knock a few quid off the price if you ask them. If I'm buying a few bits there I always ask them to take money off at the till and they always have so far! Maybe if something was on sale you wouldn't get a reduction but in my experience if you just have the neck to ask they will do it. I usually get 10 - 20% off.

I pretty much shop online or club pro shop. In the past used the golf warehouse in Cherry Orchard or one of the smaller shops never liked shopping with the big guys, no customer service, gave bad advice on club selection etc.

I hear where you are coming from on keeping the money in Ireland. Have you priced them off your club pro?
